      Volvo Construction Equipment has announced that it will officially launch a range of electrified compact excavators (EC15 to EC27) and wheel loaders (L20 to L28) in mid-2020 and stop developing diesel-based equipment for the relevant models, fulfilling its pioneering commitment to future technology.
        This move will make Volvo Construction Equipment the first construction equipment manufacturer to usher in the era of electric compact equipment. Previously, Volvo Construction Equipment successfully launched a series of electric concept machines based on close cooperation with customers, and the market feedback was very positive. This move is also in line with the Volvo Group's strategic focus on developing electric business in all business areas.
        The first electric machines will be unveiled during the bauma exhibition in Munich in April, and will then be gradually promoted in other markets around the world from 2020.
       Although Volvo Construction Equipment also emphasizes that diesel internal combustion engines are still the most suitable power source for large equipment, existing electric and battery technologies are perfectly adapted to small Volvo equipment.
